A few dorper ewes out for a clover breakfast.
Notice how we begin shedding our wool from the bottom up

So you want a sheep that :

Doesn't need to be sheared as often because they can shed their wool.
Doesn't have to be tail docked because there is no wool buildup in the back to cause problems.
Doesn't require a total grain diet to grow big and meatie, pasture, browsing bushes and hay will do the job.
Doesn't need as much worming medication, they are more resistant to parasites than other breeds.
Provides some of the finest lamb meat available without strong "mutton" taste because they don't have a lot of lanolin.
Are calm and pleasant to work with - plus are smaller and easier to handle than cattle.
Can breed in any season so you can schedule your lambing when ever you like.
Twins are the usual plus they have great mothering and milk capability, can be trusted to give birth without problems
.
Try Dorpers !

We are members in good standing with The American Dorper Sheep Breeders Society and the Ohio Valley Regional Dorper Association If you are interested in purchasing shedding sheep for meat but have never seen a dorper give me an email, we are always happy to talk about the benefits of owning a dorper and I can also send you to the proper website for more information.
